Erik Neuenschwander

Erik Neuenschwander is Apple’s Senior Director of User Privacy, Child Safety and App Platform Integrity, overseeing privacy engineering and child safety efforts across Apple’s products and services, as well as enriching the software platforms that enable developers to create a broad ecosystem of compelling applications. Erik’s organization supports teams throughout the company to design amazing experiences with groundbreaking privacy protections, such as Private Cloud Compute, Intelligent Tracking Prevention, and Communication Safety, as well as privacy-preserving services like Apple News and Maps. Apple designs products and services with privacy and security on by default, including using innovative technologies and techniques for data minimization, leveraging on-device processing, giving users transparency and control over how their data is used, and building in foundational security protections to protect user data. Erik has over twenty years of experience in software technology including roles at Casio, Microsoft, and Apple. He holds a BS in Symbolic Systems and an MA in Philosophy from Stanford University and was a Teaching Fellow in Stanford’s Computer Science department.
